Thermo EIE

The Thermo EIE supports Modbus protocol functionality for AutoMATE, AutoPILOT, AutoPILOT PRO, and AutoEXEC devices. It supports a special Modbus protocol for SuperFlo II devices. Like the Modbus EFM EIE, the Thermo EIE supports Enron data groups. AutoMATE, AutoPILOT, AutoPILOT PRO, and AutoEXEC templates can be altered for all supported devices. However, SuperFlo II data groups and data group elements cannot be altered; only minor alterations can be made to the SuperFlo II template (for instance, to default UDC mappings).

Some of the features of the Thermo EIE are cryout support, user-configurable data groups, support for multiple communication formats (RTU, TCP/IP, and ASCII), and dynamic single-register data groups. The SuperFlo II only supports the RTU Modbus communication format.

eieType eieType identifies the CygNet EIE type associated with a template (in the deviceDefinition element); it links a device driver with a template. It typically refers to the name of the protocol according to which an EIE conforms. A value includes a CygNet-defined string, up to 20 characters, alphabetical characters only, and no spaces. The default value is supplied in the template and is not typically changed.	Thermo

FMS Support	Yes for AutoPILOT, AutoMATE, AutoPILOT PRO, and AutoEXEC, using FMS EFM data items. No for SuperFlo II. Note: In cases where both GMR and FMS support was previously available, CygNet Measurement now provides data support using FMS data items only. If you were previously using GMR data items, you must update to use FMS data items. Update options are provided as part of your software upgrade procedure.
